  • Bled lake


    * There is an island on the west side of the lake
    * 2120 m long, up to 1380 m wide, maximum depth 30,6 m
    * It was formed after the recession of the Bohinj glacier
    * The temperature of the lake reaches up to 25°C in the summer and it gets ice covered in winter
    * A walk around the lake will take just over an hour
    * Appropriate for scuba diving and fishing

    * Situated on a steep cliff rising 130 meters above the Lake Bled
    * According to written sources, the oldest castle in Slovenia
    * Castle buildings are arranged around the lower and upper courtyards
    * You can visit museum, printing works, castle cellar, herbal gallery, restaurant, souvenir shop and see multivision

    * Only island in Slovenia
    * The 15th century Baroque Church of the Assumption dominates the island and is a popular wedding site and tourist destination
    * There are three ways to get to the island: you can swim, rent a row-boat or you can go there by traditional boat “Pletna” (you can catch one at several spots around the lake)

    * One of the most popular natural features in Slovenia
    * The path through Vintgar gorge leads along the wooden bridges, galleries and rushing river Radovna
    * It measures 1600m and ends with 20-metre waterfall Ĺ um
    * From the Ĺ um waterfall you can take the opportunity of walking up a picturesque footpath through Hom to St. Catherine-a historical church with a beautiful view

    * Located in the Triglav National Park
    * It is a mountainous plateau
    * Length: 20 km and almost the same width, attitude 1300 m
    * Covered with woods
    * Well-preserved nature, calmness, beautiful views and tradition
    * You can walk on forest paths, watch fauna and flora or cycle on never-ending forest paths

    * Length: 300 m
    * A special feature of this cave are spiral stalactites, so-called helectites, and large calcite crystals which are rear in Slovenia
    * Only organized visits are possible

  • The "Iglica" waterfall


    * 24 m high waterfall
    * Next to the waterfall is a wooden stairway leading to the top the cliff
    * Cliffs offer several climbing routes of different levels to sport climbers

    * StraĹľa (642 m on the south-eastern lake shore The Rikli Fitness Trail runs through meadows and wooded areas)
    * Osojnica (the finest view of Lake Bled and its outlying areas favorite viewpoints for photographers)

  • Triglav national park


    * The only national park in Slovenia
    * The highest point in the park is the peak of Mount Triglav (2864 m), from which the park takes its name
    * Park prides itself on pure waters, deep-cut gorges, remains of virgin forests, richness of biodiversity, and an eldorado of mountain flowers including a number of endemic plants
    * It extends along the Italian border and close to the Austrian border in the north-west of Slovenia, that is, in the south-eastern section of the Alps
    * Vintgar, Pokljuka Ravine, Lake Bohinj, Vrata valley, Vršič, Trenta, Pokljuka, etc.

    * Largest permanent natural lake in Slovenia
    * It is 4.2 kilometers long, one kilometer wide, and forty-five meters deep
    * Lake Bohinj is located in the Bohinj municipality in the north-west of the country, and is inside Triglav National Park

    * Kranjska Gora is best known as a winter sports town, being situated in the Julian Alps (alpine skiing world cup)

    * The Savica runs over 38 m long level and falls almost 51 m deep

    * The water of PeriÄŤnik drops down the wall in two falls
    * The lower waterfall is 52 m and the upper one is 16 m high
    * You can walk behind the lower waterfall

    * It is a grassy peak

Cream Cakes
  • Although you can buy them elsewhere, those from Bled are simply the best (original)
  • Ištvan LukaÄŤeviÄŤ, the former manager of the Hotel Park patisserie, tested recipes for many years before he finally succeeded
  • Over the last 40 years they have sold as many as 11 million cream cakes
  • A golden crispy crust made from butter dough (mixed with butter, not margarine), a delicious vanilla cream of exactly the right consistency, topped with whipped cream and a crispy layer of butter dough and finally, a good dusting of icing sugar – priceless!

Coachmen
  • Coachmen called “Fijaker” can take you for a ride around the lake and to Bled Castle
  • Many trips to both near and far are also possible (Vintgar, Pokljuka etc.)
  • The carriage station is by the Festival Hall

Traditional Boat "Pletna"
  • The best way to get to the island is by the traditional boat called “Pletna”
  • You can catch one at several spots around the lake (under Hotel Park, in Mlino, at the Rowing Centre etc.)
